THE LEGEND OF RUGBY

The historic brand named after rugby player Serge Blanco, who was born in Caracas on 31 August 1958 to a Basque mother and a Venezuelan father. He is considered the best French rugby player of all time and one of the greatest players in the history of world rugby.

THE MAN FROM ONE CLUB
Serge Blanco began his career in 1974 with Biarritz Olympique. A man of one club, he remained faithful to the BO throughout his career. From the 1980s onwards, he was unanimously considered to be the best back in France, if not the world.
If he caused a sensation in the French championship, it was at the international level that he left an indelible mark. With the blue jersey stamped with the rooster, he won no less than six Five Nations tournaments, including two Grand Slams (in 1981 and 1987).

THE TEST AT THE END OF THE WORLD
It was the showpiece event that was to be the high point of his career. In 1987, rugby finally had a World Cup, the first of which was organised in New Zealand. Serge Blanco, at the height of his powers, was to shine with his ultimate masterpiece in the semi-final against Australia, where he scored the winning try in a spectacular move. Runner-up in the World Championship, he enters the pantheon of figures who have marked the history of rugby.

THE PEARL OF RUGBY
In the twilight of a career rich in titles and exploits, Serge Blanco's individual record of achievements is even more eloquent. He holds the record for the most tries scored (38) in 93 caps, including 17 as captain. Voted best French player on six occasions, it is nevertheless a title that best sums up what he was to the oval ball. An unclassifiable and incomparable player, he will remain the "Pele of rugby", a nickname acquired on the field.
